brass

brass

kissing you in cottonmouth
tulips in denim
sweet tooth sugar down blouse
speaking parseltongue on striped linen

my sister prayed for your arrival
trumpeted open a gated promise
disney eyes and purple-petaled revival
veterans of the milky way office

i call you in love
and you respond in voice and rise
below as so above
never i beg to be part of your life

kitkats and hockey
reading you under black bamboo
survived the mundane and motley
swooning over a stanley cup with you
