about
from low water is an Atlanta bred studio created in 2024 by Julia Christian. It endeavors to capture the deconstructed unseen, the grids connecting memories to evolution, and the dark matter in between dreams.
Julia is a mechanical engineer turned product designer by trade, gathering the pieces of herself chiseled off for some American role-playing. from low water is a home for those pieces to be revived and cherished.
The brand is inspired by August's harvest season, the transitional 8th month of the year when the water table is lowest. Julia's art pulls from her 90s childhood, shadowing her parents' long careers at IBM, and countless hours with her dad nerding out over new tech, video games, and cars until his passing in August 2001 🕊️
from low water is about running low, but never running out.
Each artwork is hand drawn on iPad, then printed in-house; sometimes with a little typesetting help from Figma. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look around, and believing in the poetry.
"You’ve got to believe in the poetry. Because everything else in your life will fail you – including yourself."
